Services

Initial Assessments – Adult (18+), Adolescent (13-17), Pediatric (12 and under)
An initial appointment is required for every first time patient. A 60-minute (Adolescent and Pediatric) or 75-minute (Adult) visit provides us with the opportunity to thoroughly discuss your health concerns, lifestyle factors, personal and family medical history, and complete a focused physical exam, when indicated. A treatment plan will be created to best suit you and your specific health needs and goals.

Follow-Up Visits

Depending on the complexity of your health concerns, we have 30 or 45 minute visits, to follow up on any changes made from the initial visit and take the time to further implement a treatment plan. Follow-up visits may include botanical medicine, nutritional medicine, physical medicine, acupuncture, clinical counselling, lab testing, and pharmaceutical therapy.

Intravenous (IV) Therapy
IV therapy nourishes the body with therapeutic doses of vitamins and minerals, while bypassing the digestive tract. When indicated, IV therapy can be a very supportive treatment to give the body the energy needed for healing. This treatment can be very effective for combating nutrient deficiencies, chronic stress, irritable bowel disease, celiac disease, acute colds / flus, migraine headaches and others. B vitamin intramuscular shots, are also available, when indicated.

Lab Tests
When indicated, lab testing helps to provide us with additional information to your medical history and can help us understand your symptom profile. This may include blood, saliva, urine, or stool testing.

Regenerative Injection Therapies
Prolotherapy, PRP, and perineurial therapies can all be used to help stimulate healing in acute and chronic injuries. Dr. Lauren Goss, ND is currently treating both upper and lower extremities. Click here for more information.

IV Iron Infusions
Iron is a very challenging mineral to absorb from our diet and often times oral supplementation causes side effects or does not combat the absorption issue. If you struggle from iron deficiency, have symptoms of low iron, please click here for more information and get in contact to see if an IV iron infusion is right for you.

Treatment Modalities

Physical Medicine
From injuries to chronic stress, the body carries around tension that can greatly impact your quality of life. Physical pain can have a huge impact on mental and emotional well-being. Structural alignment doesn’t always solely impact bones and muscles; it can also affect the nervous system and visceral tissue supplied by each nerve. By realigning bones, releasing muscle, nerve, and vascular tension, pain can be relieved and function can be restored. It is also important to find out why misalignments exist: postural positioning, muscular imbalances, injury compensations, stress, or tension can contribute to misalignments. Treatments can include: soft tissue release, bone realignment (osseous manipulation), hydrotherapy, and laser therapy. The goal is to help increase blood flow, encourage tissue repair, and restore physical function, getting you moving and back doing what you love.

Botanical Medicine

Herbs have been used in medicine, traditional and conventional, preventative and acute, for thousands of years. Many pharmaceutical medicines are derived from botanical constituents. For example, salicylic acid (aspirin) from Salix alba, the white willow tree, is very commonly used as an analgesic and blood thinning medication. Herbal medicines often have a more gradual approach to healing, have fewer side effects on the body, and utilize synergy to stimulate the healing power of nature. The goal is to nurture and restore physiological balance of any weakened system.
From tinctures and teas, to adding herbs into our diet, there is something suitable for everyone. A few conditions that benefit greatly from herbal medicine include, but are not limited to: digestive complaints (irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, diarrhea), anxiety and mood disorders, blood sugar dysregulation, hormonal dysregulation (premenstrual syndrome, menopause, anovulation), acute viral infections, and insomnia.

Acupuncture
Traditional Asian Medicine dates back thousands of years and focuses on energy meridians and acupuncture points associated with each organ system. The goal is to stimulate the flow of energy (Qi), restore blood flow, and bring the body back to a state of balance. Acupuncture is a safe and effective treatment for musculoskeletal pain, anxiety and insomnia, digestive disorders, hormone imbalances, and overall preventative medicine. It can promote a sense of increased health and well being.

Nutrition

Food provides us with the macro and micro nutrients that are the building blocks required for all tissues and biochemical processes. The biochemical mechanisms that take place to keep us alive, manage stressors, perform mentally and physically, require vitamins and minerals in order to operate optimally. Our modern world provides a surplus of unwanted toxins and chemicals, which our bodies continuously detox. The detoxification and elimination process also relies on macro and micro nutrients. In a state of disease, we require higher energy and nutrient requirements. Diet or supplementation, can be used to intervene and support healing from disease, and more importantly, for on-going prevention and building prolonged resilience. Whether you need to tweak your day to day intake, find out what foods are triggering inflammatory responses in your body, or require specific nutrients to combat or prevent disease - food, truly is your foundational medicine.

Counselling
The complexities of the human experience affect us mentally, emotionally, and physically. Whether there has been recent trauma, past trauma, or overwhelming stressors, it is so important to address the emotional impact and weight of these experiences on our overall health. Mental, emotional, or physical, stress has the same implications on our physiology. The root cause of physical pain, digestive issues, sleep problems, anxiety and depression often has an emotional component. Naturopathic doctors are trained in clinical counselling, an essential tool for addressing mental and emotional healing, and counselling will be incorporated in treatment visits, as needed.

Physical Exams
From regular screening exams, annual physical exams, or focused physical exams in acute scenarios, naturopathic doctors utilize physical exam information to help rule in and out medical conditions. You can expect a focused physical exam in your initial assessment, regular vital assessments at follow-up appointments, and other exams done as required. Women’s wellness exams (pap and breast exams) and male wellness exams can also be done, as required.

I am certified in prescriptive authority, by the CNPBC, and can prescribe pharmaceutical prescriptions when necessary, and in the best interest of my patients.
